Long time friend and mentor Tom Kyte used to say that you could describe your career by the Oracle versions you have worked with. I started (in the main) with Oracle 6 in the mid 1990s, along with some occasional dabbles with Oracle 5, but 20 years later in 2015, chancing upon a tweet led to a major career decision. Two weeks after that, I got my final “life-before-Oracle” email on June 3rd 2015, from Steven Feuerstein letting me know that all of the red tape hurdles had been cleared and that I would be starting with Oracle Corporation.
Since then, it’s been an incredible ten years. So much has changed in the technology landscape in those 10 years.
However, one thing that has not changed are my goals for the role I have at Oracle, which I explained way back in 2015 in my first video on my Oracle YouTube channel.
Ten years on, the goal remain the same – help people be more successful with the Oracle technology they are using.
If we’ve crossed paths in those 10 years, a big “thank you” for being part of the Oracle community.
Time to push on to the next 10 years!
