Well, its been quite a year 😀
As always the highlight for me was face to face events. Like a lot of companies out there, getting approval for travel is tough in this economic climate, so I’m extremely grateful for any opportunity I’ve had to catch up with our community. Good friend Cary Millsap wrote this excellent post on the value of attending conferences – print it out, and show it to your manager next year!
My job is to bring content, education and guidance to the Oracle community to help them be more successful with the Oracle Database, in terms of what the community liked this year, my most popular blog post was the same as last year!

The great thing about the popularity of this post is that it is now obsolete! 😀 23c brings the new schema level privilege to make this a one line command!
In terms of the most viewed video, I was surprised to find it was about materialized views!
but once again, second place was how to use SQL to efficiently do pagination through a set of query results on a page.
I’m also proud that across 2023, my videos pulled in nearly 400,000 views, totalling 610 solid days of watch time. I’m not a “view chaser” and the only real time I look at the analytics is once a year for this post 😀, but I’m chuffed that (hopefully) this equates to providing good value for our community.
Who knows what 2024 will bring? I think we can safely say it will related to “AI” in some way!
Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season. See you all in 2024!
PS – I must admit, I didn’t really want to write this post, because before I wrote it, the count of posts for 2023 was ….. 42!
