I’m going to have to be up front with you here. If your focus is Database, then Thursday is going to be a nightmare because every timeslot has a plethora of “must not miss” sessions.

My best advice to you would to be either bring a friend, or make some new friends at the conference and divide up the workload between yourselves and then meet up later at the coffee shop or the bar to discuss what you’ve learned.

It is simply impossible to see everything you should be seeing on Thursday.

Right off the bat , you have two Hands-On labs first thing in the morning, both of which are worth your time investment.

REST and APEX are hot topics, so you need to attend this one, but equally important is understanding how to manage your database in a cloud environment

Of course, whilst you are at those labs, you really need to attend the following sessions at the same time!

Melli is the “go to” resource when it comes to Graph, and I’ve seen this session in India, so I can highly recommend it.

At the same time, while we are talking, you can never go John Beresniewicz when it comes to performance tuning and SQL

But of course, there is a chance you wont be able to run any SQL on your database if it is not being safely and securely backed up, so you also need to somehow fit this session into your schedule.

But similarly, if you are focussed on backup, recovery and availability, then you should be attending the DataGuard deep dive which runs … sigh … at the same time!

If you have somehow managed to grab all those sessions and survived until 10am, then unfortunately things are not much better – you will need to spread yourself pretty thing to catch all of these sessions.

Kim Berg Hansen always does a stellar job when talking about relational technologies, so this JSON/relational session will be top notch.
